Silk fabrics sprayed with an airbrush, opulently embroidered cushions, colourful objects made of beads or wood: the estate of the Zanolli family is a rare treasure. Under the label Atelier Zanolli, a family business that was entirely women-run by mother Antonietta and her daughters Pia, Lea, and Zoe Zanolli, a fantastic world full of graceful and cheerful products was created. This book, published to coincide with the current exhibition at the Museum für Gestaltung in Zurich, traces the history of Atelier Zanolli, places its work in the context of the development of Zurich and the Swiss textile industry in the first half of the 20th century, and also positions the “Zanolli style” internationally.
